News and updates

Good morning Reader,

We just got back from our first convention of the season in Kansas, and were so encouraged to see how the Lord is moving across this nation! As we settle back in, we're hard at work wrapping up year 4 and looking forward to this summer and fall. We have some pretty exciting updates that will be announced in the weeks to come. Let's start with a few sneak peeks.

Energy Sample Available Now

Some of you have waited a long time for this, and I so appreciate your patience. My dad (who you may know as Grandpa B) wrote much of this unit. As an electrician, he is passionate about the topic of energy and feels that it is a critical conversation for families to discuss today. As I have edited and researched and added my two cents behind him, I am inclined to agree. There are just some units that I feel everyone should do: Psychology, Life Skills, US History 6, Entrepreneurship, etc. And Energy definitely makes that list! The first half of the unit focuses on the various forms of energy and is a bit heavier as we discuss a lot of physics. The second part is the more practical application—discussing how we produce, use, and store this energy to power our lives. This is not an easy topic and there was so much information to wade through. But we have done our utter best to lay out the pros and the cons of each aspect to help paint a bigger picture and, perhaps, give a new perspective as we look to the future. The free sample is available now and we hope to launch the full unit next week sometime, so stay tuned!

Gathered in His Name 2024

Every time I think about this event, I feel like I have fresh ideas and new vision. Jonathan and I are actively praying over the families who come and believing that this will be a powerful weekend. If you missed the update, we made the entire event free and will be taking an offering one of the nights to help cover costs instead. We are trusting the Lord to provide and believing that hearts will be turned toward the Lord, relationships restored, and revival sparked in the lives of families across the country. The full schedule and session descriptions are now available on the site and we can't wait to see you there. We have limited space, so be sure to grab your tickets now, even though they are free, so that we can make sure you have a seat! Also, if you want to attend one of our paid events (such as men's breakfast or teen night), make sure to grab that ticket so that we can reserve your spot.

I am going live today on our free app and Facebook at 2pm EST to talk more about this and to give you some of what to expect for our upcoming Music unit that I'm starting on! Hope to see you there!

Good morning Reader, We are so close to finishing our first regional unit, Alberta. While this is a Canadian province, it applies to everyone and is a great study to help you meet your goals for geography and social studies. All throughout the unit, students are encouraged to compare the history, topography, industry, economy, politics, etc. to their own region—helping the topic to apply no matter where you live! The program is only ten lessons long, making it easy to fit in alongside or in...

Good morning Reader, We are so excited to release our first physics unit . . . and this one is all about Energy. As you might imagine, this is a sensitive topic and there is a lot of controversy—which we tackle head on in typical Gather 'Round style! Students will be learning about the art of persuasion and becoming more aware of tactics all around them before putting it into practice—trying to persuade their family of their point of view.
