Check out our first Bible study!

Published 3 months ago • 1 min read

Good morning Reader,

I am so excited about our first full Bible study going through the book of James. I'll be honest, this was a daunting prospect to me. But I have been amazed how the Lord has given insight and creativity as I have written this unit. Some days I read over the short devotional and am so struck by it—blessed, convicted even. James doesn't pull any punches. This short epistle is packed with hard lines drawn and a call to aim higher. The sample lesson is just the introduction, which helps to build the framework, but the full unit is coming this month! There are three different levels (non-reader, mid-reader, and teen/adult) with just one reflection page per day, designed to take you through an inductive Bible study of the word of God. Our very first unit at 30 lessons, I felt like this was meant to broken up as much as possible. It is set up to do Monday-Saturday for 5 weeks. Check out the sample to check out a sneak peek!

Also, don't miss that I am going live today at 2pm EST (11am PST) on our Facebook page as well as the app (you can choose where you want to watch). Truth be told, I wasn't able to get organized beforehand to get a printable made (sad, I know), but stay tuned for more of these going forward. Click on the link below to find us!

Don't miss it! In case you missed it, we launched the details for our GIHN 2024 event. If you have registered for it, tell us about it in a story on Instagram and tag us! Make sure you use our official hashtag for it #GIHN2024. This event will be jam packed this year and has something for everyone. If you need refreshment, or even to connect as a family, join us for our 2024 family ministry event. Full details are here.

Otherwise, things are busy here in Athens. We have a new address for Gather 'Round land, so if you're kids want to send their art, school work, or anything else to us, you can find that at the footer of this email. Slowly but surely, we are making progress. Though nothing is as easy or simple as we would have hoped. I feel like I'm scaling Mount Everest with an ice pick, each step having to establish myself like a Who in Whoville: "We are here, we are here, we are here." Yet we stand in faith, trusting that God has not brought us this far only to abandon us. He has a plan, and we cannot wait to see that unveiled in the coming months.

Blessings!
